Chart Watch: Black Eyed Peas Go Double Digits Again

Holding onto the No. 1 spot for ten or more weeks is quite a feat and doing it again is almost unheard of. The Black Eyed Peas reach week number ten with "I've Gotta Feelin'" at No. 1 (groan) after "Boom Boom Pow" logged 12 weeks at the summit. The only other artists to ever do that were:
Boyz II Men:
  • "End of the Road" (13 weeks, 1992)
  • "I'll Make Love To You" (14 weeks, 1994)
  • "One Sweet Day" w/ Mariah Carey (16 weeks, 1995)
Mariah Carey
  • "One Sweet Day" w/ Boyz II Men (16 weeks, 1995)
  • "We Belong Together" (14 weeks, 2005)
Santana
  • "Smooth" (12 weeks, 1999)
  • "Maria Maria" (10 weeks, 1999)
Another interesting thing to note is that the Black Eyed Peas have now become the first group to ever be No. 1 for all of summer. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the Peas have had the most popular song in the country. Who knows how long this will last. A new song moves up to No. 2 this week, "Down" by Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne, and although it's the week's airplay gainer, it's still lagging behind in sales to "Feelin'". Meanwhile, the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana is commanding digital sales with "Party In The USA" but with not much more than Radio Disney to count on for airplay, breaking Fergie and company's grip is out of the question.

1. "I've Gotta Feelin'" - The Black Eyed Peas
2. "Down" - Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne
3. "Party In The USA" - Miley Cyrus
4. "Use Somebody" - Kings of Leon
5. "You Belong With Me" - Taylor Swift
6. "Run This Town" - Jay-Z feat. Kanye West & Rihanna
7. "Best I Ever Had" - Drake
8. "Knock You Down" - Keri Hilson feat. Kanye West & Ne-Yo
9. "Hotel Room Service" - Pitbull
10. "Good Girls Go Bad" - Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meester
