Kid Cudi is the Bomb

Kid Cudi (pronounced Cuddy despite there only being one consonant between the 'u' and the 'i') first came to our attention on Kanye's 808s & Heartbreak. Cudi was featured on "Welcome To The Heartbreak" as well being a co-writer on "Heartless" and "Paranoid". His debut single "Day 'N' Night" was a smash, crashing into the Hot 100 at No. 3. His third single from his forthcoming album Man on The Moon: The End of Day is entitled "Pursuit of Happiness" and it features back-up vocals from indie darlings MGMT.

I'm expecting amazing things from Kid Cudi. He's proven a tremendous songwriter and is emerging as the leader of a new pack of rappers (Drake, Wale) at this decade's end. The debut album is set to drop September 15, just a week after Jay-Z's The Blueprint III is released. Comparing "Day 'N' Night" and "Pursuit of Happiness" with the gimmicky "D.O.A." and "Run This Town", Cudi looks like he'll top Hova himself.

No one will ever top Jay Z. No one.
