The American Music Awards have announced the nominees for the 2010 show which will air Nov. 22.Taylor Swift leads the pack with six including Favorite Female Artist where she's up against Lady Gaga and Beyonce (uh oh) and Favorite Album where Fearless contends with Gaga's The Fame and, get this, Michael Jackson's 2003 greatest hits compilation, Number Ones.
I know that Ones is currently the top selling album of 2009 (look out though, the No. 2, Fearless, is getting a re-release which means this is anyone's race), but doesn't it seem a bit odd to award a six year old greatest hits package 2009's favorite album award? Jackson is also up for Favorite Male Artist in the pop/rock category and Artist of the Year. Hm...
The artist formerly known as Hannah Montana has two nominations under Favorite Soundtrack. That should be exciting.
