17 Tracks Readers' Choice Poll + Win A Free CD
With the end of the year comes the inevitable flood of lists detailing critics favorite albums and singles of 2008. Naturally, 17 Tracks will be have a list of its own, but what do the readers think? Send in your list of top ten favorite songs of 2008 to be a part of the readers' choice poll and you'll be entered in for a chance to win a free CD! Let's be honest, 2008 is probably going to be one of the worst years in the history of record industry. All of you are to blame. You got Tha Carter III from a bit torrent site and your room mate let you burn Viva La Vida. The Capital Records employee who just got laid off is now begging for money on the streets of LA and his kids are going to have the worst Christmas ever, but at least you filled up your iPod. Shame on you. Anyways, I figure that 17 Tracks can do its part by awarding a lucky reader with whatever album released in 2008 they want. If you don't live in Provo, you'll get it in the mail.

E-mail your list of top ten favorite songs of 2008 to 17Track@gmail.com by December 23.

Hunter! You're going to buy a CD for us? I thought you said you were done buying CDs for the year?

Yay! This is so exciting! So can you put songs that were never released as singles on your list too?

I know, just one more CD. And it's for a good cause! Hopefully that one CD I get for the winner will help one less Capital Record employee get laid off.

At first I was going to say yes, all songs have to be singles. But after seeing that "Life In Technicolor", a song that has no chance of ever being released as a single because it doesn't even have words, be #5 for Last.FM, I feel like I can't make that restriction.

I might have just opened a can of worms. I'll be flooded with lists of the first ten songs on the Taylor Swift album.

I like this whole free music thing. I'll have to think about my list too though.
