EMI Changes Its Mind, Abbey Road Isn't For Sale

Following the public uproar upon announcing it would sell the iconic Abbey Road recording studio, EMI issued a statement yesterday morning saying they would keep the property.  EMI, which has been in debt since 2007, said it received an offer to Abbey Road last year for about $46 million but they had turned it down.

"We believe that Abbey Road should remain in EMI's ownership," the company said.  They announced they were looking for "a substantial injection of new capital" to "revitalize" the studio, leading some to think that it could be opened up for the public.
