The earthquake in Haiti has generated a substantial amount of charity recordings, the likes of which were absent following recent disasters in the American south and South Asia. Debuting during the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver is "We Are The World 25", an update of the original "We Are The World" written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie in 1985 to raise money for famine in Africa.
Check the video below featuring artists including Celine Dion, Usher, Pink, Lil Wayne, Randy Jackson, Kanye West, Gladys Knight, the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana and of course, Michael Jackson.
The new "We Are The World" was produced by Quincy Jones, RedOne, and Wyclef Jean. Overall, its pretty good. The rap sections were a welcome surprise, especially Wayne and West's. The autotune though? It needs to go. Seriously. So does that weird yelping noise at 3:16 Sister Knight also needed more face time.
