Gaga joined Twitter on March 26th, 2008. Her first post read, “Rehearsing for my video ‘Just Dance’ and am now at WMC to perform at the Armani and Nervous Records party. But I am no nervous record.”
Since then, the pop artist has posted 447 tweets. To commemorate her achievement, Lady Gaga posted a video dressed up as the Queen of Twitter (see below).
Gaga also passed up Barack Obama as the living person with the most fans on Facebookwhen she topped 10 million in July. Only the late Michael Jackson has more Facebook fans.
Kanye West, who joined Twitter last week and already has 190 tweets and over 400,000 followers, chose to follow one lucky individual, 19-year-old Steve Holmes (@ste_101) of Coventry, England. "I just commented on something on Kanye West's account and next thing I know he's following me," Holmes told the Coventry Telegraph. "I was like, 'Oh my God!' But about 20 seconds later I had 20 messages from people I didn't even know and my phone wouldn't stop bleeping."
Steve had 60 followers, but an hour after being 'chosen' by Kanye he had more than 1,000. Now, he has nearly 5,000. But it's been strange, he says.
"A guy wanted me to look at his film trailer and people have been sending me links to their music demos -- as if I have some sort of influence over Kanye West. The funny thing is I like his music but I'm not his biggest fan," Steve said.
Kanye kicked off Steve's 15 minutes of fame with the words: "You are the chosen one dun dun dun dun."
Kanye is weird. I personally couldn't handle following him on Twitter for more than a day before I gave up. Not only does he over-tweet, he often doesn't make sense.

The rapper started his day by joining Twitter using. the easy-to-remember screen name @kanyewest. He currently boasts 149,624 followers. I can't wait for the ALL CAPS rants Ye will be sure to tweet. One of his tweets of interest announced that he is scrapping his fifth album's title.
"The album is no longer called "Good Ass Job" I'm bouncing a couple of titles around now," he posted.
West then stopped by both the Facebook and Twitter offices to perform some of the songs off his upcoming record a capella. Poor Myspace.

You've heard of books becoming movies and movies becoming TV shows, but this is a first. A new TV show entitled $#*! My Dad Says is airing this fall on CBS, and it was inspired by a Twitter account. The "Shit My Dad Says" Twitter account boasts 1,448,086 followers, follows only LeVar Burton (of Reading Rainbow fame) and includes post such as, "Pressure? Get married when you want. Your wedding's just one more day in my life I can't wear sweat pants," and "Can we talk later? The news is on... Well, if you have tuberculosis it's not gonna get any worse in the next 30 minutes." Willim Shatner plays "dad" in the show that revolves around his relationship with his two sons.
The first time we heard about the Twitter account, we knew it was a television show," said executive producer Max Mutchnick. Yeah, I read Twitter accounts all the time I think should be shows. Can someone please make a show about my account? Please?
Prior to the execution, Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff took to his Twitter account, posting, "A solemn day. Barring a stay by Sup Ct, & with my final nod, Utah will use most extreme power & execute a killer. Mourn his victims. Justice," and later, "I just gave the go ahead to Corrections Director to proceed with Gardner’s execution. May God grant him the mercy he denied his victims."
Shurtleff's postings have generated a global debate about not only the ethics of capital punishment, but what is appropriate to post on social media sites.
"What do U think about Brittney having more followers than u?" Kutcher tweeted earlier today. "Answer "I don't care. Aren't u suppose 2B a movie reporter?"
Kutcher made headlines last April when he had the first account to reach one million followers, beating out CNN. Since then, he has been king of the site where he comments on items of personal interest and interacts with fans several times a day. The Spears account however, is updated infrequently, and is often only tweets from her manager.
She's ruled the charts for seven weeks with "Tik Tok", and now she rules Hollywood, refashioning it's most treasured landmark in her own trashy, glittery image.
Some argue that Ke$ha's Hollywood sign vandalism is nothing more than an elaborate computer generated hoax. The sign is closely monitored 24/7 and you don't have a prayer of getting in sober let alone wasted wearing a fuzzy Indian chief headdress.
Regardless of the whether or not this publicity stunt really happened, it's doing its job. The video has gone viral, and the blogosphere is eating it up. Ke$ha gave the Internet something it can't refuse to post. Although the singer (and I use that term very very liberally) hasn't gotten the most glowing commentary on this site, and she seems far from the sharpest tool in the shed, maybe she actually knows exactly what she's doing.
Douchebag Chris Brown recently took to Twitter to complain about Wal-Mart not carrying copies of his first post-domestic abuse album, Graffiti. Here's what the pile of s*** had to say:"JUST WAS AT WALMART IN wallingfor CT,844 north colony.. the didnt even have my album in the back...not on shelves, saw for myself"
“We talked to the managers and the didnt even know anything. wow!!! but they had alicia keys album ready for release for this tuesday comin… the manager told me that when there are new releases its mandatory to put em on the shelves.. BUT NO SIGN OF GRAFFITI. BS… no disprespect to alicia at all.. just givin an example to whos album is loaded and ready to go next week.”

And that's a (sic) on all of that. Not my typos, his. Hey Chris Brown, maybe Wal-Mart isn't stocking your albums because you physically assaulted Rihanna and deserve to burn in hell with Tiger Woods. Ever thought of that? Apparently not.
Brown's Twitter account has now been shut down. Good thinking record company PR people.
Barack Obama admitted to never using social networking site Twitter this weekend, despite having over 2.6 million users following him.
“I have never used Twitter, but I’m an advocate of technology and not restricting Internet access," Obama said to a youth audience in Shanghai on Sunday. "My thumbs are too clumsy to type in things on the phone."
To be more authentic, the President should follow the example of pop star Britney Spears who often has tweets written by her manager that are always attributed as such. Spears boasts over 3.7 million followers.
Like check out her like totally cool app for the the iPhone. It says "It's Britney bitch" when you shake it. Classy.
Britney Spears' Twitter account was hacked into, and it displayed the most excitement it has since it was hacked last time."I hope that the new world order will arrive as soon as possible." her tweet said.
Her profile picture was changed into a red photo of the singer with a triangle over her eye. If you don't know the significance of that, be sure to read a previous post about Lady Gaga's alleged ties to the Illuminati here.
Her account was quickly saved and an official statement issued.
“This morning, Britney’s Twitter was hacked. We apologize for any offense the message from the hacker caused and are working with Twitter on remedying the situation as quickly as possible.”
