I've criticized Miley Cyrus' "Party In The U.S.A." not only because it's a dumb song, but for the fantastical idea that 14-year-old girls listen to Jay-Z. The only Jay-Z song any 14-year-old girl has ever heard is "Run This Town", and that's only because it has Rihanna in it.

I am finally vindicated as a new interview reveals that the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana hasn't actually listened to Jay-Z.

"I don't know, I didn't write the song, so I have no idea," she said. "Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line. I didn't write it [and] I didn't expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best."

I'm glad she put so much thought into her No. 2 hit, aren't you?

"I've never heard a Jay-Z song. I don't listen to pop music," Cyrus answered. "['Party in the U.S.A.'] is not even my style of music. I'm really blessed for it to have done as well as it has. Totally blessed. God has definitely put me in an amazing position with amazing people."

I COULD NOT believe that Miley would admit that! Who is her PR guy? "It's not even my style of music." who does she think she is. BIG mistake in my book.

Glad I found your blog. I know I will love it.

Cheers!

I could name some 14 year olds that have heard more then just one jay-z songs...but then again they are all into that kind of music.

She is still a talented individual in my book.
